NSB Tesla STEM High School | U.S. DOE Office of Science(SC) The challenge occurred from September 2020 to January 19, 2021. All three have thus earned the right to participate in the National competition at the University of Maryland in early June. Unlike many teachers, including many at Tesla STEM, Allender requires science fair participation for her STEM lab concentration class. Another fabulous showing by our students at the FBLA State Leadership conference this last weekend in Bellevue. The team consisted of Yuchen Li (captain), Maxwell Soh, Nikhil Mehta, and Atharv Dixit. Our Science Olympiad team was formed last year and, after a couple of very encouraging results, the Washington regional and state events were canceled due to COVID (as were similar events for so many of our other organizations). Of the 23 events at State, Tesla STEM Green finished 1st in 10 events, but still were tightly grouped with Bothell and Camas. (They qualified by winning the ORCA Bowl at the University of Washington.) Excused/Unexcused Absences. Working off the same specifications, each team came up with something unique and creative. The Youth Poet Laureate, along with their YPL cohort, has numerous opportunities and platforms to share their powerful voices, their leadership, and love of Seattle at regional events throughout the course of the year. Other prizes include: Outstanding Delegate: Spring Cherip (African Union), Honorable Mention: Anna Whiteside (ECOSOC), Rishika Veeramachaneni, (Joint Crisis Committee).
